Baysox Win, 3-2, in 10
|
The Bowie Baysox and Binghamton Rumble Ponies treated fans to some rich drama.
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies got a whale of a performance from pitcher Christopher Newell, but the Bowie Baysox still prevailed, 3-2, in 10 innings. Newell threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. With the win, the Baysox sit at 31-26.
The decisive blow was delivered by Owen Cabreja in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Lincoln Mathews to win the game for Bowie. The home crowd went nuts.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Cabreja said.
