Laman goes 3-for-4 to Pull Ravens to .500
|
Led by Michael Laman, the New Haven Ravens downed the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 11-6. Laman was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Ravens. Byron Johnson nailed down his 11th save. New Haven has a record of 27-27, placing them 5th in the Eastern League North Division.
Center Fielder Douglas Peckham made an impact for New Haven, when he swatted a 2-run double off Wilson Razo in the bottom of the first. For the contest, Peckham went 2-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
Ravens manager Mark Ennis wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
