Down to Defeat Goes Binghamton, 3-2

The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
Mason Ellison pitched well, but his team, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Portland Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field. Jesse Lamb claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 4-1.
The Sea Dogs got a big at-bat from shortstop Divine Nogues. For the game, Nogues went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Portland a 3-2 lead.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Portland manager Matt Aguirre.
Portland's record now stands at 24-32, placing them 7th in the Eastern League North Division.
