Akron Sends Erie Packing with 4-3 Loss
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Erie SeaWolves and Akron RubberDucks get after it.
The Akron RubberDucks topped the Erie SeaWolves, 4-3, in Eastern League action at Canal Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Akron pitcher Dave Harper. Harper, the winner, moves to 7-1. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Luke Maher recorded the save, his 17th.
Akron took a 4-1 lead on Yipolito Ambriz's 2nd triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Ambriz hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Erie pitcher Casey Cole visibly frustrated.
"Dave just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Akron manager Damon Cordero.
The win makes Akron 33-16.
