Binghamton Rallies for 6-4 Victory
Hartford got a terrific performance from pitcher Menudo Echevarria, but it wasn't enough to beat the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Binghamton won the Dunkin' Donuts Park contest, 6-4. Echevarria threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Binghamton reliever Wade Redmond picked up the win to move to 1-0. Jordy McCullough suffered the loss. Binghamton is 4th in the Eastern League North Division with a record of 25-26.

Binghamton used a timely hit from Declan Jones to get the win. The second baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rumble Ponies ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Jones. "You've got to get results."
