Rumble Ponies Win in Extras, 7-5
|
In the 7-5 Binghamton win over Lincoln, the impact of Chris Thurman was substantial. Thurman, who is tied for 10th in the EL with a .398 on-base percentage, was 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Binghamton reliever Ethan Quigley got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Joe Fryer was tagged with the loss. The 5th-place Rumble Ponies are now 28-20, the Bighorns 35-13.
Eugene Aguirre had the most critical at-bat for Binghamton. With one in the top of the 14th inning, Aguirre hit a first pitch sinker from Joe Fryer for a 2-run single. It put Binghamton in front, 7-5.
In postgame remarks, Thurman simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
