Yonkers Dark Knights pitcher George Verde whisked his team past the New Haven Ravens, 4-2. Jack MacArthur earned the save for Yonkers, his 16th of the year. The third-place Dark Knights improved to 29-19.
Colt Blalock, who is rated as the 67th best prospect by BNN, came through for Yonkers with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 runs batted in.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Blalock told the Yonkers Observer.
