Rumble Ponies Turn Away Barnstormers, 4-2
The Lancaster Barnstormers and Binghamton Rumble Ponies riveted fans at NYSEG Stadium.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies got a stellar effort from pitcher Kirk Long, helping Binghamton score a win over the visiting Lancaster Barnstormers, 4-2. The save went to Vincent Hernandez, number 3 for him.

The Rumble Ponies got a big at-bat from center fielder Torquato Velasquez. For the game, Velasquez was 2 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Binghamton a 3-2 lead.

"It was a real good effort by Kirk," said Binghamton manager Zane Tharp. "I loved the way he bore down."

Binghamton has now won 3 straight, while the Barnstormers have lost 3 in a row.
