Due in large part to designated hitter Nathaniel Phinizy, the Akron RubberDucks sunk the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 8-6. Phinizy was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Marty Roberts earned the save for Akron, his 1st of the year. Akron has now won 6 straight.

Akron first baseman Robert Brill contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the RubberDucks ahead, 8-1.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Brill.
