Yard Goats Rally Late to Nip SeaWolves
|
Led by Vito Carbajal, the Hartford Yard Goats downed the Erie SeaWolves, 4-3. Carbajal was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Yard Goats. Hartford pitcher Elmore Neville earned the win, hiking his record to 2-2. Andy Fine suffered the loss. Hartford is now 18-24. Erie is 13-29.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Hartford trailing 3-2, Carbajal jumped on a fastball from fireballing left-hander Andy Fine and hit a 2-run home run to right. With one swing, the Yard Goats had a walk-off win.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Carbajal told the Hartford Gazette.
