Rumble Ponies Take Down Pilots, 5-4
|
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies did just enough to secure a victory over the Wichita Pilots, 5-4, in 13 innings at Regions Field. Nobody did more than center fielder Ricky Jager. Binghamton reliever Ervin Dion picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Mike Lannon absorbed the loss. The Rumble Ponies saw their record improve to 18-25.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 13th, until Jager delivered big-time for Binghamton, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Mike Lannon. The game-changing hit put the Rumble Ponies on top, 5-4.
"I was a little disappointed," said Wichita manager Ryan Coleman. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
