Sea Dogs Suffer 5-1 Loss to Barnstormers
|
The Lancaster Barnstormers defeated the Portland Sea Dogs, 5-1, at FirstEnergy Stadium. Lancaster was led by 25-year old second baseman Eric Jones, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The defeat makes Portland 22-22.
The Barnstormers got a big hit from left fielder Andriy Orel. Facing Portland pitcher Easton Kemp in the bottom of the sixth, Orel pounded a run-scoring double to left. His 5th double of the season put the Barnstormers ahead, 3-1.
Said Portland manager Matt Aguirre: "We weren't able to do much."
