The Somerset Patriots picked up a win at NYSEG Stadium, dropping the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 7-3. Thurston Hill, who is tied for 9th in the EL in quality starts with 4, was the difference-maker. Hill, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The win makes Somerset 16-22.

Somerset catcher Jimmy Stancati contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 6th hit of the season and put the Patriots ahead, 4-0.

Stancati called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
