Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for SeaWolves
The Gateway Grizzlies got a sterling performance from pitcher Benjamin Ducharme, but the Erie SeaWolves still prevailed, 6-5. Ducharme threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Erie pitcher Ty Woodard got the win. He's now 1-2. P.J. Sayles was tagged with the loss. Albert Broughton was credited with the save for Erie, his 7th of the season.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Logan Roberson was at the plate when Erie scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the SeaWolves to go in front, 6-5.

"Nice win for us," said Roberson. "Now we'll go after the next one."

The third-place SeaWolves raised their record to 20-19.
