Barnstormers Win 4th Straight, Take Down Sea Dogs, 6-4
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Lancaster fans at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The Lancaster Barnstormers spoiled a good performance by Portland second baseman Colton Rector, bumping off Portland, 6-4, at FirstEnergy Stadium. Rector was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. Oscar Ontiveros earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. Emiliano Quintana was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
Elliott Joseph hit a 2-run double off Jesse Lamb in the bottom of the third, which put the Barnstormers in front, 5-4. In addition to the double, Joseph had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"I thought we competed really well," said Barnstormers manager Josh Bieber. "I thought the energy was really good."
Lancaster has won 4 consecutive games.
