RubberDucks Topple Dark Knights with Late Rally
The Yonkers Dark Knights and Akron RubberDucks delighted fans at Canal Park.

The Akron RubberDucks got a marvelous performance from pitcher Marcel Batista. The right-hander kept the Yonkers offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-1 Akron victory at Canal Park. Robin Wright snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2 innings. He's now 2-1 on the season.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Benjamin Wenster came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Yonkers pitcher Zoland Robichaux, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Akron on top, 2-1.

Said losing manager Vince Hendrix: "Give the RubberDucks credit. They played a better game than we did."

The 7th-place RubberDucks hiked their record to 14-20.
