Hartford Bats Cold in 8-0 Loss
|
Behind the hitting of Ken LaRoche, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats defeated the Hartford Yard Goats, 8-0. LaRoche went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Fisher Cats. The Fisher Cats have an impressive 24-10 record.
New Hampshire catcher Omar Robalino contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Fisher Cats ahead, 3-0.
Said losing manager Marco Rios: "Give the Fisher Cats credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."
