Rumble Ponies Rally For 8-5 Win
The inspired effort of Yonkers center fielder Scotty Field was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-5, to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Field was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2. The win belonged to Curt Peterson in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Richard Riechmann took the loss for Yonkers. Kevin Laraway finished the game for Binghamton and earned his 9th save.

Binghamton used the timely hitting of Brent Sutton to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rumble Ponies on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Sutton told the Binghamton Herald: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."

With the win over Yonkers, the Rumble Ponies improved to 19-14.
