Patriots Earn Clutch Win, 4-3
|
Bowie got a terrific performance from pitcher Ryker Solis, but it wasn't enough to beat the Somerset Patriots. Somerset won the Prince George's Stadium contest, 4-3. Solis threw 7.1 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. The win belonged to Socrates Palacios in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Tae-Yul Kim took the loss for Bowie. Nicholas Sears earned the save for Somerset.
Kazumu Kobayashi helped out the Somerset cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1 for 1.
"Fun game," said Kobayashi, "even when the outcome was in doubt."
With the win, the Patriots hiked their record to 19-15.
