The Altoona Curve picked up a win at People's Natural Gas Field, dropping the Lancaster Barnstormers, 5-4. Reece Sprinkle was the difference-maker. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Lancaster.
Toby Wheeler had a big 2-run double for the Curve in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Altoona leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Bobby Tan, who is tied for 2nd in the EL in innings pitched with 42.2, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Curve ahead, 4-1.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Lancaster manager Gustavo Resendiz.
