Rumble Ponies Slip Past Lancaster, 8-7
|
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies bested the Lancaster Barnstormers by a score of 8-7, with center fielder Michael Judd getting the main credit. On the day, Judd went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Rumble Ponies. The Rumble Ponies move to 20-11 with the win, while the Barnstormers drop to 14-17.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Alexis Salazar came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Lancaster pitcher Zander Patek, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Binghamton on top, 8-7.
"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Binghamton skipper Zane Tharp.
