Frigates Go Down to Defeat, 10-6
|
Austin Gullion did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Halifax Frigates from being beaten, 10-6, to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at MGM Park. Gullion was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Lincoln Queen closed it out for New Hampshire, earning his 1st save. The first-place Fisher Cats now have a record of 21-10.
New Hampshire shortstop Homer Pujols contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 31st hit of the season and put the Fisher Cats ahead, 9-5.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said New Hampshire manager Mario Javier.
