The Somerset Patriots did just enough to sneak past the Altoona Curve, 6-5, at People's Natural Gas Field. Somerset first baseman Caetano Florez, in particular, had a standout performance. At 17-10, the Patriots have played well so far.

It could have been a different outcome for Somerset, had it not been for Johnny Bender, the 23-year old center fielder . Bender contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Somerset up, 4-2.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Somerset manager Alex Chavez.
