The Gateway Grizzlies and Wichita Pilots put on a pitchers' duel.

Gateway pitcher Boyd McKinnon did his part in helping his team defeat the Wichita Pilots, 2-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The Pilots, 13-14, continue their so-so start to the 2061 season.

Gateway won the game in part because of Oscar Valdez. The catcher ripped a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Grizzlies ahead, 2-0. For the game, Valdez had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.

"There was no wiggle room in this one," said McKinnon.
