Braves Win, Now 81-54
|
The Atlanta Braves picked up a win at Truist Park, taking down the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-4. Starting pitcher Austin Defenbaugh was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Defenbaugh, now 12-7. He tossed 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Eufemio Aleman recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 1 for 1.
The Braves got a big at-bat from second baseman Peter Guice. For the game, Guice was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Atlanta a 4-3 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Guice told the Atlanta Bulletin.
Atlanta is now 81-54, 5½ games up in the Eastern Region Atlantic Division.
