Rangers Score Late to Beat Blue Jays, 4-3
|
The Texas Rangers faced a tough opponent in Toronto pitcher Jacob Olsen, but found a way to pull out the victory at Globe Life Park in Arlington by a final score of 4-3 in 14 innings. Olsen went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Texas reliever Daniel Hoekstra picked up the win, raising his record to 2-3. Eugene Washington was tagged with the loss. After today's action, Texas sits at 49-86; Toronto slips to 78-57.
The Rangers procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Isaiah Bailey. In the bottom of the 14th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"To become 'battle-tested,'" said Bailey, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
