The Fresno Falcons knocked off the Kansas City Royals, 5-4, in National League action at Savemart Center. Fresno pitcher and Brooklyn, New York, native Brooks Kiernan had an outstanding performance. The winner in relief was Ryan Bielvenstram. He is now 4-3. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The 5th-place Falcons sport a record of 61-73.

Dane Thomas drove in one run for Fresno. The 23-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Dylan Ratcliff. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Fresno manager Pedro Alvarado. "That's what Brooks is right now."
