Detroit second baseman Clay Gardner was a significant contributor in his team's 6-5 triumph over the Las Vegas Knights. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Tigers. Jeremiah Rector picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-2. Aiden Cook was tagged with the loss. The second-place Knights now sit at 85-49.

Detroit used a timely hit from Vaughan Hunt to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Gardner. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
