Borck Holds Fresno Scoreless
The Fresno Falcons had no answer today for Chicago Cubs pitcher Joe Borck. They failed to score a single run against him, losing 4-0. Fresno managed only 1 hit off Borck, who had 11 strikeouts.

The extraordinarily popular Borck got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd.

"Cubs fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."

This season Borck has fanned 185 in 171 innings and collected a 12-8 record with a 3.11 ERA.
