R.J. Thomas was a major contributor to the 7-5 Vancouver win over Texas. The Cascades catcher went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Dewitt Harris earned the win for Vancouver. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 8-9. Edward Stanley earned the save for Vancouver, his 32nd of the year.
Vancouver left fielder Penley Spurlock contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 100th hit of the season and put the Cascades ahead, 6-3.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Thomas. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
At 73-58, the Cascades are currently 5th in the Western Region Northwest Division.
