Reds Claim Late Win
|
Jair Leija did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Philadelphia Phillies from being beaten, 7-5, to the Cincinnati Reds at Citizens Bank Park. Leija went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Gregg Stewart picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Ryder Behr suffered the loss. At 76-55, the Reds find themselves in first place in the Eastern Region Great Lakes Division.
Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Isaac Keenan to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Reds on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Keenan told the Cincinnati Daily News.
