Whitson Spins Gem for Fresno
The Fresno Falcons got a marvelous performance from pitcher J.B. Whitson. The left-hander kept the Las Vegas offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-0 Fresno victory at Savemart Center. Woody Jones collected save number 39. The Falcons now own a record of 79-52.

Whitson, a native of Edmonds, Washington, was dealing all game. He kept Las Vegas hitters off-balance, while giving the Falcons 7 quality innings. Whitson threw 98 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 7.

"J.B. made his pitches," said Fresno manager Pedro Alvarado.
