Atlanta Downs Miami, 6-3
|
The Atlanta Braves defeated the Miami Marlins, 6-3, in National League action at Truist Park. Mark Orren pulled his weight. The 8-year veteran went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Atlanta reliever Ray Laboissonniere was the winner. His record is now 2-3. The losing pitcher was Dennet Harris. Earning his 10th save of the year was Jaxon Wilson.
Orren had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-0 sinker from Dennet Harris, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Braves a 4-3 lead. It was the 31st home run of the year for Orren.
"It all comes down to execution," said Atlanta manager Vicente Alba. "Baseball 101."
By defeating Miami, the third-place Braves improved to 67-62.
