Memphis starter Buzz Johnson pitched well against the Vancouver Cascades at Blues Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-4, in 10 innings. The winner in relief was Kingston Chin. He is now 4-2. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Memphis occupies third place in the American League Alvarado Division at 64-65.

Memphis got a knockout punch from Sebastian Gates. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We didn't let this one get away," said Gates.
