Rangers Squelch Knights Offense in Shutout Win
|
Daniel Hoekstra, who is tied for 7th in the NL in complete games with 1, never let the Knights get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Rangers to a win, 4-0. The Rangers are now 51-77, while the Knights fall to 82-46.
Isaiah Bailey had a big 2-run home run for the Rangers in the bottom of the third inning. With Texas leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Colton Hall and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Rangers on top, 3-0.
"Daniel is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Texas manager James Sparks.
