Orioles Top Blue Jays in Extras, 5-4
|
The Baltimore Orioles topped the Toronto Blue Jays by the score of 5-4, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Magglio Trego. Trego went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Orioles. Baltimore reliever Marky England picked up the win to move to 3-1. Homer Covarrubias suffered the loss. Baltimore goes to 64-61, Toronto to 81-44.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Trego hit a curveball from Homer Covarrubias for a solo home run. The Orioles, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Toronto manager Matt Martin.
