The Montreal Expos powered past the Portland Hops, 10-4, at Olympic Stadium. Sean Darko provided some of the pop. Neighbor went 3-5 with a triple and 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Oscar Sunseri. He tossed 100 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. The 4th-place Expos are 59-64.

Conn Durian had a big 2-run double for the Expos in the bottom of the first inning. With Montreal trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Gabriel Gonzáles and swatted a double to left. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Expos ahead, 3-2.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Portland manager Nelson Espinoza.
