The Cleveland Indians powered past the Virginia Black Bears, 11-5, at The Sparrow's Nest. Aden Crowe provided some of the pop. Great One was 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Ted Carr, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 11-7. Lee Shape, credited with the save, is now 4 for 8 in save opportunities.
Cleveland used a well-timed hit by Feliz Batista to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Indians ahead, 5-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Crowe told the Cleveland Today.
