Reds Pick Up 6-4 Win Against Toronto
|
The Cincinnati Reds topped the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 6-4. Leading the way was center fielder Ezra Peters. Peters was 2-3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Reds. The winner was Ethan Martin, who threw 85 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 5 hits. Osvaldo Ortiz earned the save for Cincinnati, his 26th.
It could have been a different outcome for Cincinnati, had it not been for Isaac Lee, the two-time All-Star . Lee contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put Cincinnati up, 2-0.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Peters. "I think we showed that here."
Cincinnati is now 61-59, Toronto 65-55.
