Indians Clip Black Bears, 3-2
|
Cleveland right-hander Rick Van Hemert helped his team edge Virginia by the score of 3-2. Van Hemert kept the opposing lineup in check. The win makes Cleveland 56-62.
Chia-Wei Ni drew 1 walk for Cleveland. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Elijah Shrigley. It was his 23rd walk of the season.
Postgame, Indians manager Josh Mackin complimented Van Hemert. "No question about it. Hulk was terrific."
