Oakland reliever Alex Barboza picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Stan DeGroat absorbed the loss. The win puts Oakland at 43-72.
Oliver Melendez, the 27-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Melendez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Oakland up, 4-3.
