Houston Beaten, 3-1, by Minnesota
|
Minnesota got a first-rate effort from pitcher Francis Chairez, who frustrated Houston hitters en route to a 3-1 Twins triumph at Target Field. Jayson Bail earned his 25th save, after closing out the game. The Twins now have a record of 66-49 with the win over Houston.
Minnesota took a 3-1 lead on Colten Anderson's 25th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Anderson hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Houston pitcher Christian Duran visibly frustrated.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Minnesota manager Connor Sandstrom.
