Seattle Gets 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres, pitcher Jake Prendergast was the difference between victory and defeat. The Seattle right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Mariners win. Prendergast, now 10-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The win elevated the Mariners to 77-38.
Bobby Brundage, the 2048 Rookie of the Year winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Brundage contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Seattle up, 3-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Prendergast.
