Dodgers Net 5-3 Win Over Royals
|
Los Angeles second baseman Ray Fernández had a 3-RBI game, leading his team in its 5-3 defeat of the Kansas City Royals. Fernández picked up 2 singles and 1 double in the ballgame. Los Angeles reliever Denny Kondo picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Jon Casey took the loss. Los Angeles, at 69-42, holds down second place in the Western Region Pacific Division.
Fernández contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Los Angeles in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Fernández took a sinker from Jon Casey and stroked the double to center. His 2nd double of the season allowed the Dodgers to leap in front, 4-2.
Fernández told a Los Angeles Herald reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
