|
The Cleveland Indians defeated the Montreal Expos, 5-3, in Eastern Region action at Olympic Stadium. Jonathan DeMarino pulled his weight. The 7-year veteran was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Ernest Martines, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save. The win gives Cleveland a season record of 59-52.
In the top of the first of a scoreless game, DeMarino hit a 3-run home run to put his team ahead.
