Astros Come Up Short at Texas, 4-3
|
The Texas Rangers earned a win at Globe Life Park in Arlington, knocking off the Houston Astros, 4-3. On the bump for Texas was right-hander Rodger Ellis. He had a starring role in the triumph. Ellis, now 6-8, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The Rangers go to 42-68, putting them last in the National League Rivera Division.
Isaiah Bailey, who is the top prospect in the Rangers organization, chipped in a 2-run home run for Texas in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Rodger has got a slow heartbeat," said Texas manager James Sparks. "He doesn't panic or anything."
