Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Mets beat the Ignition.

New York Mets starter Zachary Britt kept the Indianapolis Ignition hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 10-1 win. The winning pitcher was Britt, now 10-4. He tossed 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6.

The Mets got a big hit from designated hitter Emmanuel González. In the bottom of the eighth, González pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 33rd home run of the season put the Mets ahead, 10-0.

"Zachary was able to execute his pitches," said New York manager Nate Hetzel. "Simple as that."

The victory gives the Mets a record of 62-47.
