White Sox Lose to Marlins, 6-3
|
The Miami Marlins knocked off the Chicago White Sox, 6-3, in National League action at Guaranteed Rate Field. Miami pitcher and Cheektowaga, New York, native Riley Egner had an outstanding performance. Egner, the winner, moves to 8-7. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. Miami currently is in first place in the National League Sparrow Division at 75-33.
The Marlins got a big at-bat from third baseman Tris Running. For the game, Running went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Miami a 2-0 lead.
