Claycomb Helps Marlins Win, 6-3, with Pair of Homers
The performance of Jess Claycomb proved critical in helping Miami beat Chicago, 6-3. The Marlins catcher was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Nathan Ampey. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 2. Shane Moore earned the save for Miami.

Hudson Ray helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Miami a 2-0 lead.

"When there are games to be won, you win them," said Miami manager Jake Braithwaite.
