Damewood Lifts Giants to 13-7 Triumph
Rhett Damewood was instrumental in his team's 13-7 triumph over the New York Yankees. The second baseman was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the San Francisco Giants. The winner in relief was Arturo Frank. He is now 7-6. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. Today's win puts San Francisco at 42-65, while New York falls to 41-66.

Damewood had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Xander Monroe, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Giants a 10-6 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Damewood.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Damewood told a San Francisco Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
