Blues Dealt 1-0 Loss by Kansas City
|
The Kansas City Royals eked out a 1-0 win versus the Memphis Blues at Kauffman Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Tom Sulek. He was terrific. Sulek, now 7-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Max Rea got the save, the 10th for him this season.
The Royals got a big at-bat from catcher Braiden Bonner. For the game, Bonner was 1-3 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 13th double of the season gave Kansas City a 1-0 lead.
Bonner called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
Kansas City now has a 3-game win streak.
